How a shift in your beliefs could change the world

America,

A lot of what we are living today is based on the very things that we inherited from our ancestors. And if we’re going to be honest about it, not all of that is something to be proud of.

Some of it has caused tremendous pain and trauma in the world, much of which has been passed on for generations. Some of it has caused tremendous fear and anxiety, which has done the same.

But at some point along our journey, we must come to recognize that evolving times call for evolved minds, emotions, and ways of being.

When your thoughts no longer serve your current condition or circumstances, you must be willing to replace them with new thoughts that will better serve you.

This brings me to the topic of shifting beliefs…

One of my favorite teachers on this subject would have to be Abraham and Esther Hicks. If you’ve never heard of them, I’d advise you to get started here.

I’ve been a student of theirs for nearly 5 years now, and I must say that their teachings are life changing. One of the points that their teachings consistently drive home is this:

A belief is only a thought you keep thinking until you believe it’s true…

The biggest problem with this is that most people focus on the problem more than they do the solution. To add to this principle on beliefs, whatever you focus on most in life, will grow, and you will start to see more and more evidence of it all around you.

Imagine that… It’s no coincidence that the person who chooses to focus on love, prosperity, and abundance are those who get to experience those things in their daily lives.

On the contrary, those who dwell in negativity, hopelessness, and lack (or a ‘not enough’ mentality) are those who live the misery of it all. Here’s why, according to Abraham:

The realization that something is not as you want it to be is an important first step, but once you have identified that, the faster you are able to turn your attention in the direction of a solution, the better, because a continuing exploration of the problem will prevent you from finding the solution. The problem is a different vibrational frequency than the solution—and all thoughts (or vibrations) are affected by (or managed by) the Law of Attraction.
Excerpted from Money and the Law of Attraction — 3/31/09

So how do we ensure that we are evolving in a way that will bring us closer to a more unified, healthy, and loving world?

Well, when we become aware of our own thoughts, we have to be honest about what comes up. If you find that your thinking is predominantly everything that you don’t wish to experience, then you must be willing to shift beyond those beliefs because they contribute to the whole.

With the surge of technology and platforms like YouTube, we are quickly becoming the spiritually awakened generation who understands the fundamentals of change better than any generation that ever lived.

Ways toincorporatepurple hues inyour wedding.png

It is up to each of us to keep ourselves educated on the principles and ideas that will move humanity forward. More importantly, we must be the demonstration of what we learn, because faith without action is useless.

When we are willing to change ourselves (individually) for the better, we help change our world collectively.

I’ll leave you with this brief lesson by Abraham of how we can take charge of our own beliefs (video below).

Watch and comment, I want to know what you think.

Brittnay

BrittNay’s Corner: What I Resist, Persists…

Today, for the first time I became aware of how often I allow my mind to be consumed by the things and experiences that don’t please me. For the first time I was able to recognize the very moment that my negative thoughts drifted so far that anxiety began to creep up on me. I started feeling anxious and couldn’t focus long enough to complete the task at hand. My emotions were all over the place, and peace was the farthest thing from me. All of this because I could not take my mind off of those things that I believed weren’t working for me. From my current 9-5 and my living situation, to my diet and all the things that I want to change. You name it, my mind was on it. And boy did it go on and on and on…

“Negative thoughts stick around because we believe them, not because we want them or choose them.”

Andrew J. Bernstein

That is, until something within me recognized the chaos that was going on my mind. I like to call that something my “inner knowing.” That inner knowing recognized the verbal and emotional assault that I subconsciously inflicted upon myself as I uncontrollably dissected how I could have and should have done things differently, or how the experiences that I was having was somehow less than fair. My observer remained still and awakened to the fact that “it” was not a part of this negative space that was being created within me. This inner knowing knew the truth about life, about my circumstances, and about what is possible for me… and “it” became my great escape from the toxic false reality that I had inflicted upon myself.  Before this moment, I could not see how I was contributing to my own suffering because I would not allow myself to dream a better reality than the one that I was experiencing. The reason I could not dream a better reality is because I would not take my mind off of what was wrong in my eyes.

“Bondage is – subjection to external influences and internal negative thoughts and attitudes.” – W. Clement Stone

After being on this journey for as long as I have, I’d like to think that I’ve learned a thing or two about the truths of life. Thus far, what I know to be true is that the things that you resist in life, will persist. That is to say that whatever one focuses on, and whatever one gives their emotional energy to tends to linger whether positive or negative. This truth lead me to the awareness that I had created a reality for myself that even I disapproved of because I refused to instead shift my attention to everything else that had worked in my favor. In the words of Abraham and Esther Hicks,”I would not let things get good for me” because I was so busy focusing on what I thought was so bad. From this space, it is nearly impossible to welcome any of what God and the Universe has in store for us when we can’t even be grateful for the blessings that we have already.

“You can’t depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus.” – Mark Twain

It was revealed to me that nothing and no one outside of me had been more instrumental in keeping me from the life that I dream of living than the negative thoughts that I allow to fester in my mind. In this moment, as I share my experience with you, I am thankful for this newfound awareness, for it has now empowered me to know just how much power I have in co-creating my reality.

It is my wish that you will be blessed and brought to a more powerful level of awareness as a result of reading my story. After all, the truth is only a thought that you keep thinking until you believe that its true. DON”T BELIEVE THE LIES!

How much can you relate to my story? I’d love to learn more. Drop a comment below, or shoot me an email at bcstarkspr@gmail.com.

Manifesting Dreams (Thoughts Become Things)

IMG_4404

The most valuable skill or talent that you could ever develop is that of directing your thoughts toward what you want. –Abraham and Esther Hicks

Today is a day that I will demonstrate what it means to manifest dreams at its core. With a few major moves in the works in my personal life, as well as my career, I am believing in my visions of greatness for myself, and I’m owning the idea that I deserve every bit of it.

As of late, I’ve been on a roll with making my dreams come true. I’m starting to adopt the idea that I am a “MANIFESTATION MASTER”. What I mean by this is that I have long ago discovered my own formula for allowing my dreams to come true. And more recently, I have begun to master this formula, and I’ve pretty much gotten it down to a science. What I’ve discovered along the way is that my personal formula is something that can work for anyone else, aside from a little tweaking to remedy one’s own obstacles to success. Once you discover what it is that keeps you from pursuing your dreams, then you can come up with solutions that could ultimately counteract those thoughts and set you on the path to living your dreams.

A good example of this from my own experience has been my fear of not having enough money. This has been a long held fear as I grew up in a single parent home, where although my family was always well kept and provided for, my mother would often have the hardest time keeping a steady flow of income coming in as an entrepreneur. When I was a child, I was always intensely aware of what was going on emotionally within the people around me. I guess its where I developed a strong sense of empathy for others as I was always able to put myself in their shoes since I could always somehow tap into their energy space. The feeling was even more intense when it came to those I love. As I watched my mother worry about how things would get done and how bills would get paid, I developed that same sense of fear within myself that there just wasn’t enough money to feel safe to do anything outside of surviving. It wasn’t until I was introduced to the concept of the “Law of Attraction” as a teenager that I began to realize how infectious and paralyzing this “lackful” mindset was, and how it had subconsciously kept me from being my best self.

But with any belief system, its not something that just changes overnight. Beliefs are just practiced thoughts that become true for a person over time with enough repetition. I realized that in order to live the life I dreamed of living, I would have to rid myself of those crippling thoughts of “not enough.” I began to address these thoughts by introducing new ones through affirmations, such as, “All of my needs are met,” “I am safe where ever I go,” and “The solutions to my problems always show up on time.” With each new thought introduced, I would find ways to support those thoughts with action whose results would help solidify them as true in my experience. The more I practiced this new way of thinking and supported action, the more confident I became that life was much less scary then I once envisioned it to be. And with this exact concept, you can do the same… WITH ANY CRIPPLING THOUGHT!

It’s still an ongoing process. However, after years of practice, I’ve managed to find myself in a space where I’m able to catch those kinds of thoughts in their infancy stage and completely discredit every aspect of it before I allow it to affect my decision making… Pretty cool huh?! I know, but you can do it too!

I find that through this process, I am able to walk the Earth with confidence and declare that all that I desire can and will be mine with enough courage, work, will, faith, and fight.

And this my friends is how I manage to get out of my own way and manifest my dreams. There are a few more aspects that I can address later, but I hope something here resonates with you. If so, drop me a line below or shoot me an email at bcstarkspr@gmail.com.

When Asked If I Am Truly Happy, Here’s What I Had To Say…

happiness_quote1I had someone ask me the other day if I am truly HAPPY. Their question was in reference to a picture that I posted of myself on Instagram. I took a selfie of me wearing a new sweater from one of my favorite positive apparel brands Peace Love World. And on that sweater were the words “I AM HAPPY” in big bold white and yellow letters. For a moment I had to pause when I was asked the question, not because it struck a nerve that someone would question my personal satisfaction with life, but because I had to take all of my life as a whole into consideration. My conclusion and response to them was this:

Yes, I AM HAPPY… In fact, I’m probably the happiest that I’ve ever been in my entire life despite what circumstances may appear to be. I’m happy because I now know the truth about life. Happiness to me doesn’t mean that I won’t sometimes think negative thoughts, or feel sad, or cry because things just aren’t going right. Instead happiness means that in the midst of those things, I have the full power to choose how I will respond to every situation, and how I will allow those things to affect me emotionally. I know for sure that no matter what happens to me, no matter how bad or good it may be, I have the power to control my thoughts about everything and ultimately change my experience from negative to positive. I have full control over how I allow things to affect me based on what I choose to give my attention to. I can choose to make things that displease me the focus of my world, or I can refocus my attention on what I love about my life, and how much I’m growing and improving every single day. Both are choices dealing with my thoughts, but one bears fruit of emotional chaos, while the other bears fruit of peace and serenity. It makes me happiest to know that life is not happening to me, but that I am an active participant in my every interaction and experience. It makes me happiest to know that GOD trusts me with this personal power to get back on right track whenever I am distracted and veer off course. I have choices, WE ALL DO! And even when I don’t make the best ones, I can easily redirect my path by making a better one, moment by moment. So yes, I AM HAPPY!

And just as if my answer was somehow part of what resonated with their inner being, they nodded in satisfaction for they too had accepted my truth as their own… Are you truly happy? I’d like to know your take on what it means to be happy. Drop me a line… (that means comment below) 🙂

SELF MASTERY: Control Your Thoughts/Actions, Surrender The Outcome (On Every Subject!)

surrender

My greatest task these past several months has been the act of letting go. Its one of the hardest things to do when you’re so used to being a bit of a control freak. Okay… Let’s admit, we ALL do this with certain aspects of our lives. We all want to feel as if we have a sense of control over the things that are going on around us. And to a certain degree, we do. But what I’m coming to know, is that the greatest thing that we should aspire to have control over has nothing to do with anything outside of oneself. It has EVERYTHING to do with checking in with the thoughts and feelings that are behind every action or decision that one may make.

Most recently, I had to deal with relationship disappointment. For me, it was that feeling and supporting thoughts of being deprived or cheated of certain treatment. This is a very typical thing for humans, especially women to endure as we are given so many images and ideas from the outside world about how things are supposed to be. And its amazing how it never fails that the core of all relational conflicts comes from those very ideas about how things are “supposed to be.” And as the saying goes, our ideas about how things are supposed to be are what screws us up most. In fact, I find it funny how no matter what your thoughts and feelings are about something, negative or positive, you can almost always count on some kind of outside validation to support it. It can be in the form of a friend or family member’s advice, a billboard you may see while driving, a song on the radio, a fortune cookie… No matter what frequency you are on, it will somehow be validated and ultimately encouraged to continue… This is something to consider!

But now consider this: What if it was revealed to mankind that every idea that we’ve ever held about life and how things are supposed to go are false? What if none of it is true, and its all just one great big illusion (almost like a movie), and we are playing the roles that we choose to play with every decision that we make? And what if, as a result of accepting this scenario as true, we are told that our only power in navigating through life is to develop discipline in the mind; that is, be mindful of the thoughts and emotions that pass through your being, and understand that everything that you say and do are the result of what you are thinking and feeling in any given moment. Now, if everything that you say and do will render an opposite or equal reaction, thus creating the events of your life, would it not be a top priority to constantly work at improving one’s thoughts and emotions before or during the decision making process?…

This task for me has been one of great difficulty, as it challenges me to dismiss many ideas that I have about relationships and love, and life in general. Its amazing how many different thoughts and ideas we have about specific subjects that are not our own. They are merely thoughts and ideas that we have learned from the world around us. When we learn to master what controls our actions, we can begin to be more deliberate about just what it is we are trying to accomplish with every given thought and feeling. From there, we can surrender and allow life to unfold profoundly in our favor, rather than against us through negative validation and real-life physical confirmation. This has been one of my greatest revelations!

Namaste!

[UPDATE] Thinking & Growing Rich: Life gives you just what you ask of it, through the foundation of your beliefs

I had to share this excerpt from my favorite book of all time, Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Once again, this book is filled with so much divine wisdom that it is almost impossible to ignore… or should I say, foolish. Check out what mean:

There is a difference between wishing for a thing and being ready to achieve it. No one is ready for a thing until he believes he can acquire it. The state of mind must be belief, not mere hope or wish. Open-mindedness is essential for belief. Closed minds do not inspire faith, courage, and belief.

Remember, no more effort is required to aim high in life, to demand abundance and prosperity, than is required to accept misery and poverty. A great poet has correctly stated this universal truth through these lines:

“I bargained with Life for a penny,

And Life would pay no more,

However I begged at evening

When I counted my scanty store.

For Life is a just employer,

He gives you what you ask,

But once you have set the wages,

Why, you must bear the task

I worked for a menial’s hire,

Only to learn, dismayed,

That any wage I had asked of Life,

Life would have willingly paid.

This book has by far been the most influential piece of literature that I have read thus far. The most powerful lesson I drew from this excerpt is that no matter how hard you wish, or hope, or pray… if you do not believe in yourself, or you dreams and desires, they can NEVER manifest. In that same lesson I learned that your life will turn out as big as you allow yourself to imagine it to be. If you think small, you get small, and vice versa. How big is your vision? For that will be the foundation of your own dreams manifested.  (Check out the poem that I posted previously from the same book on the topic of belief… Simple, yet POWERFUL!)

If you find that your thoughts are very limited in nature, then change them. Begin to tell a different story until you believe the thoughts that are most beneficial towards your growth. Think prosperity, joy, peace, happiness, abundance, and unlimited supply of all that you could ever need and want. Stop thinking that you don’t have enough of something. Stop entertaining what you see, for it is only your TEMPORARY REALITY. You have all that you need to be all that you desire in life, you just need to start to believe THAT. Your thoughts become your beliefs… which ultimately becomes your life. Choose wisely the thoughts that you entertain.

Think & Grow Rich (in mind, body, spirit, and POCKETS!!!!)

[UPDATE]: I found video of Napoleon Hill (the author of Think and Grow Rich) on YouTube. Its basically a video of the actual book! Check it out and be blessed! 🙂

The Story You Tell Life, Becomes The Life You Live

“Sometimes we get stuck because of the story we tell ourselves and life.”

– Tony Robbins

“I can’t do this because of that. I don’t have enough of something. That will never happen. This just can’t be. Men are no good. All women lie. Life is hard…”

These sentences reflect a pattern of thought that becomes a story in its entirety. This is the recurring story that many people have going on in their brains over the course of a lifetime.

And as we now know, the mind is a powerful thing. Thoughts become things. This kind of thought pattern is one that just won’t let life get good for anyone who claims it as their story. That’s because these types of thoughts in nature, are what keep us all in a constant state of fear. And fear is always the thing that stops progress dead in its tracks.

If ever you are wanting life to change, all that is required of you is a simple shift in your awareness, from a thought that serves you no benefit, to one that inspires you to move. Its bigger than just thinking positive and saying affirmations. You MUST take action in the direction of your newly formed thoughts in order to make them your reality. After all, motion is in fact the very thing that effects our emotions.

For example, when we are depressed, most of us don’t want to move… we have no desire to get out of bed, nor do we have as much energy to. But when we finally convince ourselves to get up and shower; to put on clothes and get out of the house; to call up our closest friends for a night on the town; to go out and have fun. The very act of motion in each of these activities changes the way that we feel in those given moments, and ultimatey changes our circumstances, and eventually our lives. And it all starts with a single thought, that if tended to and nurtured, produces thoughts just like it (positive or negative) until those thoughts collectively form a story.

The question is, what story have you been telling yourself about life from any given aspect? For that is what your reality has become. But just as one can change their mind to move in another direction, one can change their story into something that works for them, instead of against them.

Our lives are merely a reflection of the stories that we choose to believe. Where has the story that you chose lead you in life? How does your story affect your movement? Is your story one of benefit, or one of detriment? Do tell.

Love,

@BCSTARKS

I was inspired by this AMAZING Post: How Will You Start the New Year?

As my readers know, I am a huge fan of author and metaphysical lecturer Louise Hay and all of the wisdom and life lessons that she’s shared throughout her 86 years of life. Most recently, I came across a post featured on her blog YouCanHealYourLife.com which asks a simple question: How will you start the new year? An excerpt from the post goes like this:

The New Year is upon us. We welcome the New Year with love and joy, know that what we give out comes back to us multiplied. As you begin your New Year, ask yourself these simple questions:

What shall I now release from my life?

What or who no longer works for me?

What am I holding on to that holds me back?

What thoughts or beliefs belong to the old me?

How am I being unloving to myself?

What do I believe that really works for me?

Am I ready to let go?

What is going on in my life that is terrific and wonderful?

Where am I being very loving to myself?

What I love most is the affirmation that Louise shares at the end of her post, which goes like this:

I am not limited by statistics, medical opinions, time or authorities.

I am one with the infinite wisdom and capabilities of the Universe itself.

All good is available to me, right here and right now.

All I have to do is to use the power of my thoughts to create that which I desire.

My readers also know that I am HUGE on affirmations as well. But for those of you who don’t know what exactly an affirmation is, here’s the beauty of them.

Affirmations are not quotes. They are statements that are positive in nature, and reflect the birthright of every human being. Affirmations are often the opposite of every negative thing that we as humans think to ourselves as a result of our life experiences. However, they can also become the new thoughts that we train ourselves to think, and ultimately shape the energy that we bring to each day that we are a part of this life. Afterall,  what you believe about life, and the energy and thoughts that you bring to the world is what your life ultimately becomes. But it all starts with yourself. So whatever you do, get to loving you!  Begin to be more conscious of the thoughts that you are AFFIRMING in your own life because it matters.

Love,

@BCSTARKS

Some call it an accident, I call it a lesson learned

Ironically, I wrote a similar title for this post with the intentions to blog about a lesson I learned a week ago. However, I didn’t get around to it until a recent experience inspired me to share my lessons.

As the saying goes, when you’re on a journey to great there will be many distractions but you have to stay focused and show Universe that you’ve learned the lessons that it has offered you while on your journey.

I, like many have long wondered why certain things would constantly show up in my experiences or relationships. That is, until I began to understand that everything in life is energy, and that energy “is merely transferred from one source to the next.” Therefore, whatever energy you put out you get back, and it’s not limited to relationships with people, money, material things, and self.

Whatever energy you put into a thing (positive or negative), you will get out of that very same thing.

With this in mind, it recently came to my attention that I too had given off bad energy in certain areas of my life. It all came to a head as I was involved in a minor but scary hit and run accident in which the other driver fled the scene. The easiest thing to do after it occurred was to be angry about how my life had been endangered, as well as the damaged done to my car… which I was. But I was quickly reminded to release the anger by allowing it to subside and give thanks for all that I was grateful for just moments after.

All too often we go through life struggling in ways that even GOD tells us is unnecessary, but we do it anyway. As Oprah recently put it, every other animal species on the planet flees when it senses danger, but human beings are the only species to walk right into it.  In life there are always signs all around us that show when our lives are spiraling out of control based on the energy that we have offered life over time. And sometimes it takes for one to suffer or experience scary situations (sometimes several times) before we become aware of just what we have offered life.

For myself, it had been about me being so consumed with the many tasks of everyday life, that I lost track of what was most important. My family and friends, my health and well-being, and the opportunity to “get it right” the next time. Unfortunately this lesson had to come at the expense of a bashed-in car and little whiplash, but the lessons provided were so great that I now stand more appreciative than resentful of the experience.

It is only when one is given the precious opportunity to become aware of one’s self that he can change for the better and make different decisions. Once aware, there is ample opportunity to take another route and show GOD and the Universe that  you have learned your lessons by doing and thinking differently.

…Which reminds of a song… Although it pertains to love gone wrong, the principles can apply to any aspect of everyone’s life. Enjoy!

Love,

@BCSTARKS
