The Dream Maker: Thinking & Growing Rich

Think & Grow Rich…

Its been almost three weeks since I’ve purchased this book, and believe it or not, I’m still reading it. But that’s a good thing.

Each time I pick it up I come across sentences laced with concepts so powerful that I’m forced to give myself time to absorb them fully.

The thing is, when I’m drawn to concepts which give me a strong sense of enligtenment, I like to  give myself time to think about them; to take them in enough to see how they could be applied to my everyday life. I like to put myself to the test because I have a strong understanding that knowledge alone is not power… but applied knowledge IS.

And so, thanks to Napoleon Hill, I am coming to fully understand “Power thinking and being.” I believe that none of us are ever really far off from reaching our fullest potential, we just have to be open to new ways of channeling our energy and focus so that we can make room for new ways of being.

I must say that I am enjoying this part of my life because I have never felt so free to do and be all that I can imagine.

Also, I am proud to know that I already possess the humble beginnings of what Mr. Hill refers to as the “Master Mind group.”

According to Hill, “People take on the nature and the habits and the POWER OF THOUGHT of those with whom they associate with in a spirit of sympathy or harmony.”

In other words, those who are in a position of power or sucess have attained it through their association or alliance with others who are on the same frequency of success and power, and have come together in harmony to form an energy so great that it cannot be denied by anyone or anything, not even the Universe.

It reminds me of the Bible verse which says:

“Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall AGREE on earth as touching any THING that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:19,20)

This revelation is so profound that it pays wonders to be able to grasp and apply it.

My hope is that as I continue to grow and learn and share with others my lessons, that others will allow the power of applied enlightenment to take over their worlds and make life pure bliss… or at least close to it. 😉

Until next time,

The Dream Maker: A little of me for the world to see

I study because I hunger for knowledge.

I use what I learn to make my life better.

I write because its therapeutic… for me, and for those whom I share it with.

I learn lessons and I share them because I understand that my lessons were never meant to be just my own.

I love because it heals… myself, and whomever receives my love.

I cry sometimes because I feel… we all feel, and that’s okay.

But I vow to never stay; not in those dark places where no one is welcomed, where my dreams seem too far-fetched, where I am not good enough, where forgiveness seems impossible and resentment fills my body with poisonous disease and discomfort until one day I exist no more.

No, I won’t stay there.

Every day I vow to grow.

I vow to learn more about me

… about my connection with my source

… the ONE SOURCE that created the heavens and the earth, and everything in it.

I vow to BE more of the good that lies within me; to allow my light to shine brighter.

Yep, every chance that I get I will be greater than before.

Because I now know that within every passing moment lies the opportunity to do things right

… the way I know they should be done.

My happiness depends on me.

And so I vow to be happy and live out all the beautiful visions that God allows to pass through me.

I embrace each one knowing that I am worthy of them all.

I vow NOT to treat myself the way that I DON”T want other’s to treat me because I realize that I show people how to treat me by the way I treat myself.

I love this life that I have been given for all that it has, and continues to show me.

I vow to allow my evolution to become something that sheds light on the world.

This will be my legacy, and through it I will live FOREVER…

So, here I am  WORLD! Do you see me? 😉

(The words of this poem are so powerful that I had to share them here… LOVE IT!)

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

– William Ernest Henley (1849-1903)

Words of Wisdom: Thinking

If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you don’t,
If you like to win, but you think you can’t
It is almost certain you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost
For out of the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow’s will
It’s all in the state of mind.
If you think you are outclassed, you are
You’ve got to think high to rise,
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or late the man who wins

– Walter D. Wintle – 1905

Featured Dream Chaser: Funny man @SeanGComedy is doing his thing

I was torn about whether I would feature this post under “Dream Chasers” or “The Blueprint,” mainly because I consider this guy a trailblazer in his own right. Sean Grant a.k.a. “Sean G” is one of the funniest people I know… literally.

I first met Sean while teaching at a local high school. What brought us together was that we both just happened to be the youngest looking teachers on campus. We looked so young that sometimes even the administrators would mistake us for being one of the students skipping in the hallways. We became friends almost instantly as we begin to share with one another some of our goals and dreams.

At the time, I was still working on a business venture that I started about two years prior, while Sean had performed as a stand-up comedian at different clubs and college campuses across theU.S.

By the time I met him he had already won awards for his comedy including the Sierra Mist Presents Jimmy Kimmel Live College Comedy Championship, and was featured on Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns among other projects.  To Sean, he was still just “trying to make it,” but for me to learn his story, I came to understand that he was already well on his way.

A few months ago, Sean decided to take his show on the road. The South Florida native (Miami, Florida to be exact) gave his grind the maximum boost when he decided to pack his bags and move to Hollywood…California that is.  He’s been grinding it out ever since. He was recently a finalist for the Kings Next Generation Tour, hosted by the creators of the Original Kings of Comedy and is set to release his debut comedy album “Agressively Lame” some time this year.

Sean is the ultimate dream chaser, not only because of the countless hours and relentless energy that he puts into refining his craft, but because he has made the greatest sacrifice of dedicating all of his youth to making his dream come true. There is no doubt that the Universe will return to him the equal components to all that he has given it. People like Sean continue to inspire me and others to be all that we can dream of one day and one step at a time.

Stay true to YOU: The foundation to all things great

I’m a firm believer in the idea that “Can’t nobody do you, better than you…” And with great reason.

But first I will pose this question: Since when has anyone ever experienced lasting success while stuck on  trying to walk in the footsteps of someone else, or be something they’re not ?.. Don’t worry, I’ll wait….

My guess is that although some may experience some form of success, it never lasts because everyone was created uniquely different, with different purposes, gifts, talents, and ways of viewing the world.

Every single one of us  has something special to offer the world when we hold our heads high and walk in our own greatness unafraid, unashamed, with confidence, self-assurance and love.

When we settle for being mere shadows of others, we are subconsciously telling the Universe/God that “I am not good enough, or not worthy enough to be who you created me to be; that my voice, my ideas and dreams don’t deserve to be seen or heard; that the chances of me being born out of the various combinations of my father’s sperm, my mother’s eggs; the very parents that I was born to, and the era in which I was born is somehow a mistake. ” This is something that I have the hardest time believing.

Believe it or not, each of us would be better off if we learned to accept ourselves for who we are, no matter where we are in life, or what we do. The energy of self-acceptance alone paints a more proactive picture for the  Universe to operate from. In turn, when you show the Universe that you appreciate all of who you are by staying true to yourself, you make room for others to accept you and appreciate all that you have to offer just the same.

As @UncleRush, a.k.a. Russell Simmons likes to say, DO YOU!
